Bengals' Andy Dalton: Solid in efficient Week 4 victory

Dalton completed 22 of 31 passes for 296 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in Thursday's 22-7 victory over the Dolphins. He also netted minus-12 yards on six rushes and fumbled twice but recovered both.

Analysis:

The veteran signal-caller turned in an efficient performance against a Dolphins defense that has struggled to defend the pass through the first four weeks. Dalton's most spectacular play came on a first-quarter scramble where he deftly side-stepped the rush and slung a 51-yard heave downfield to a leaping A.J. Green, who snared the pass at its highest point. He also found four other receivers on the night, but looked Green's way the most by far (10 targets). Through four weeks, Dalton has put the ball up 146 times, as compared to the 116 attempts he tallied over the same time period last season. Despite the considerable uptick, he's only netted three touchdown passes, but if the Bengals' aggressive air approach endures, it could certainly pay dividends for Dalton's fantasy owners throughout the season.
