Buccaneers' Mike Evans: Leading NFL in first downs through three weeks

Evans has tallied 17 first downs over the season's first three weeks, more than any other player in the league, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

The third-year receiver is off to a good start with respect to putting his drop-laden 2015 behind him, as he's looked like a much more consistent pass catcher throughout the first three weeks of the new campaign. Evans also has posted a 75 percent (3-for-4) success rate in the red zone, after hauling in only two of 13 targets (15.4 percent) inside the 20 last season. With a whopping 39 targets, touchdowns in each contest, and a solid 14.3 YPC to date, the 23-year-old seems primed receive some of the highest volume of any receiver in the league this season.
