Texans' J.J. Watt: Placed on injured reserve
The Texans placed Watt (back) on injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis:
It was announced Tuesday that Watt was headed to injured reserve after aggravating his back injury, and the Texans officially made that move Wednesday morning. Watt will be sidelined at least eight weeks and is not necessarily done for the season, but whether or not he returns before the year is over depends on the success of his recovery. Devon Still and Antonio Smith will be counted on to fill in at right defensive end in Watt's place.
