Broncos' Jeff Heuerman: Makes first NFL reception

Heuerman caught his first NFL pass, a 29-yarder, in Sunday's win over Cincinnati.

Analysis:

The pass, a deep corner down the left sideline late in the fourth quarter, gave a glimpse as to why Denver drafted him in the third round of the 2015 draft. Heuerman clearly has the ability to stretch the field, but it's fair to wonder whether he'll be able to secure more than a bit role in the short term once starter Virgil Green comes back. Heuerman's torn ACL last year and hamstring trouble in training camp have limited his reps in the offense. John Phillips provides a veteran backup to Green, making Heuerman -- seen as the potential starter earlier in camp -- the No. 3 at the moment.
