Lions' Golden Tate: Quiet in Week 3 loss

Tate corralled four of six targets for 40 yards in the Lions' 34-27 loss to the Packers in Week 3. He also received one carry that resulted in an eight-yard loss.

Analysis:

Once again, Tate appeared to be less of a priority in the Lions' offense than fantasy owners have become accustomed to in years past; he saw less targets than RB Theo Riddick (nine), WR Marvin Jones (eight) and TE Eric Ebron (eight), ultimately tying for fourth on the team with Anquan Boldin (six). Furthermore, given the competition for looks amongst the Detroit receiving corps on short-to-mid level routes -- while Jones is almost exclusively sent deep to take the top off the defense -- Tate could continue to struggle to post serviceable fantasy totals moving forward. However, he'll face a Bears defense in Week 4 that allowed Cowboys possession receiver Cole Beasley to tally seven receptions for 73 yards in Week 3.
