49ers' Colin Kaepernick: Not fully healthy

Kaepernick doesn't appear to be fully healthy yet, according to coach Chip Kelly, who said Kaepernick remains the 49ers' second-string quarterback, CSN Bay Area reports.

Analysis:

Kaepernick underwent three surgeries this offseason and still isn't ready to be 'full-go,' according to Kelly. That perhaps explains why Kaepernick hasn't taken a snap yet this season, even though starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert hasn't really impressed through the 49ers' first three games. That proved particularly true Sunday against the Seahawks, but until Kaepernick is deemed fully healthy, it seems a potential promotion from his status as San Francisco's No. 2 quarterback won't be considered.
