49ers' Kelly: Kaepernick not fully healthy, will remain backup

San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly reiterated Monday that Colin Kaepernick is the club's backup quarterback, as he is not yet 100 percent healthy.

Kaepernick spent the offseason dealing with hand and shoulder issues, with the latter forcing him to miss several preseason games.

With Blaine Gabbert struggling through the first three games of the season, completing just over 55 percent of his passes and averaging 5.5 yards per attempt, it appears likely that Kaepernick will get a shot at being the starter at some point this season.
