Ebron: Stafford interception was 'my fault'

The interception won't come off Mathew Stafford's stat sheet, but tight end Eric Ebron accepts the blame for a costly turnover in Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers.

With the Lions marching into Green Bay territory down 21-3, Stafford threw what looked like a completion to Ebron before Damarious Randall ripped it from the tight end's hand and took the ball all the way down to the Lions' 25-yard line. The Lions went on to lose 34-27.

"It's my fault," Ebron said following the game, according to Dave Birkett of The Detroit Free Press. "It's not Matt's fault. It's nobody's fault. Technically, if you look at it, it's my fault."

It was more an excellent play by Randall than a bad one by Ebron or Stafford, with the Lions quarterback saying it's a throw he would make "10 out of 10 times.

"That’s a heck of a play. The guy made a really nice play on it. I don't know if - Eric probably didn't feel him. He did a great job of kind of coming from the side and the guy made a really nice play."

Stafford and Ebron connected on 5 of 8 passes for 69 yards Sunday, and have been on the same page so far this season. The third-year pro has caught 14 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown in three games.
