Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Diagnosed with knee sprain

Wilson is believed to have suffered a sprained knee, but he'll still need additional testing to confirm the diagnosis, Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Analysis:

Wilson was removed during the third quarter of Sunday's blowout win over the 49ers, giving way to undrafted rookie Trevone Boykin. While the outcome wasn't in question at the time, Wilson did appear to be in real pain, suggesting his removal wasn't just precautionary. He's also been dealing with an ankle issue since Week 1, but Sunday's knee injury seems to be a far greater concern.
