Minnesota Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes is officially active Sunday against the Carolina Panthers after missing the season's first two weeks with a knee injury.

Rhodes' return comes at the perfect time for Minnesota, as the defense will have to be at its best against Cam Newton and a strong Panthers passing game.

A defensive backfield loaded with talent is helping to lead the way for the Vikings as they look to make good on their playoff potential despite injury issues at key offensive positions.

Rhods, a first-round pick in 2013, emerged as one of the NFL's most promising young corners while starting every game over the past two years.
