Cowboys' Romo resumes throwing

In his continued recovery from a broken bone in his back, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is now able to throw a football around.

The veteran passer tossed a football around before Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins and team executive Stephen Jones provided an update on Romo's status Friday.

"He's throwing the ball around now, so he'll just keep doing more unless there is something that concerns us," Jones said, according to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News. "Right now everything is looking great. He's feeling good and certainly feels good about the progress he's making."

The team's starter was initially expected to miss 6-10 weeks recovering from a bone fracture suffered when he was sacked in a preseason game on Aug. 25. Romo is now four weeks into his recovery. The team hopes to get him back by Week 9.
