Falcons' Julio Jones: No practice Thursday

Jones (calf) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Analysis:

Although he was able to complete the walkthrough prior to Thursday's session, Jones was otherwise held out of drills due to the strained calf stemming from Sunday's win at Oakland. The decision to ease the burden on Jones this week is warranted, as he's tended to ailments in advance of both of the Falcons' games this season. In a conference call with Saints beat writers Thursday, head coach Dan Quinn said Jones is expected to reach "100 percent" for Monday's outing in New Orleans, according to Herbie Teope of the Times-Picayune. Considering only three receivers have more 20-plus yard catches than Jones' four, he should be ready to roll with an extra day to rest this week.
