Vikings' Adrian Peterson: Expected to miss at least Sunday's game

Peterson (knee) is expected to miss at least this week's game against Carolina, ESPN's Ed Werder reports.

Analysis:

The Vikings said Monday that Peterson has a torn meniscus, but this report calls the injury a sprained MCL. Peterson was set to meet with doctors Tuesday about his next course of action. It would seem likely he'll have surgery that's expected to sideline him two to four weeks, but it's possible his injury could be more significant and be out several months. However, this report would appear to indicate his injury is off the lesser variety.
