Kuechly: Panthers will prepare for Peterson despite torn meniscus

Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson suffered a torn meniscus Sunday, but Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly hasn't ruled him out of their upcoming matchup.

Peterson left the game with the aid of trainers, and further examination revealed the knee injury. Still, Kuechly refuses to take the reigning rushing champion's status for granted.

"He's a stud," Kuechly said of Peterson, according to ESPN's David Newton. "He's one of the best guys I've ever seen play at that spot. We've got to prepare for him to be there. We've got to prepare for him not to be there. You don’t know what the situation is. ...

"He’s a physical back. The last time we played them they didn’t have him, and they beat us. So one guy doesn't make a team. It’s kind of like our guys, it doesn't matter who is in the game, they’re going to play hard. Regardless of if he plays, the guy they have back there, (Matt) Asiata, he’s pretty good."
