Steelers' Ladarius Green: Aiming for Week 7 return

Green (ankle) believes he'll be ready to return in Week 7 against the Patriots, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. "It's a good possibility," he said Monday. "We'll see. I don't want to jinx it, but the rehab is going good. My ankle feels good running."

Analysis:

Green's first training camp and preseason as a Steeler was fraught with conflicting reports about his continued absence, with headaches and a slow recovery from offseason ankle surgery alternating as the culprit. However, the organization ended speculation between the third and fourth exhibitions, placing the tight end on the PUP list. Missing the first six games of the campaign has given Green additional time to complete his rehabilitation. Unfortunately for him, league rules won't allow him to practice until Oct. 17 -- or one day after Pittsburgh's Week 6 tilt in Miami -- leaving very little time to prove his health in advance of the aforementioned showdown with the Patriots.
