Arians: Cardinals' Johnson 'played poorly' despite putting up 153 yards

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians apparently has a different definition of "poorly" than most do.

Despite David Johnson putting up 153 total yards (45 rushing, 98 receiving) Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arians said Monday the second-year running back's performance wasn't good enough.

"He played poorly other than a couple big plays," Arians told reporters.

Arians cited several mental errors Johnson had as to why he was disappointed in his performance, with the 24-year-old running several wrong routes, one of which nearly led to an interception from Carson Palmer.

Johnson has 134 yards rushing, 151 yards receiving, and one score through two games, but after an offseason of hype, Arians apparently expects more from his starting running back.
