Rams' Goff to serve as No. 2 QB vs. Seahawks

Kelvin Kuo / USA TODAY Sports

Jared Goff is slowly making his way up the Los Angeles Rams' depth chart.

After opening his rookie season as a healthy scratch, the No. 1 overall pick will serve as Case Keenum's backup Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Jeff Fisher announced.

Dressing in place of Sean Mannion puts Goff just one play away from potentially seeing game action for the first time in his career.

Anything resembling last week's offensive performance by the Rams would presumably have the home crowd calling for the highly touted rookie to replace Keenum, but the Rams likely prefer his debut came against a defense more forgiving than the Seahawks.

Goff struggled in limited preseason action, completing 44.9 percent of his pass attempts for 232 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.
