Broncos' Demaryius Thomas: Taking injured hip 'day by day'

Thomas is taking his ailing hip "day by day," the Denver Post reports. "I ain't gonna be feeling great," Thomas said Thursday. "But it's getting better every day. You pray about it, keep getting treatment, and hopefully by game day, you're ready to go and nothing freaky happens."

Analysis:

Assuming he takes the field Sunday against the Colts, Thomas appears certain to fall short of his typical snap count, which would make Emmanuel Sanders the clear-cut No. 1 receiver in the eyes of quarterback Trevor Siemian. There's also a chance that Thomas doesn't suit up at all with only one game complete on the Broncos' schedule. Behind Sanders, running back C.J. Anderson, and tight end Virgil Green, the pass-catching front is mostly barren, so that trio could consume the bulk of Siemian's attention.
