Rams' Todd Gurley: Held out Wednesday as coach's decision

Gurley was held out of Wednesday's practice as a coach's decision, Myles Simmons of the Rams' official site reports.

Analysis:

With less time to prepare due to the Rams' appearance (however lackluster) on Monday Night Football in Week 1, head coach Jeff Fisher has opted to give Gurley the day off, as he received in three of the team's four preseason games. Perhaps getting more reps during exhibition season would have been beneficial for Gurley, who couldn't find any room to operate against the 49ers during a 17-carry, 47-yard performance. With another formidable foe in the Seahawks on tap for Sunday's home opener, Gurley may find the going tough against a defensive front that held the Dolphins' Arian Foster to 38 yards on 13 carries in the season opener.
