Tom Brady lauds Patriots' performance without him

Suspended New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady enjoyed watching his team beat the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday night.

In addition to posting a cheesy cartoon on social media, Brady went on the radio Monday to celebrate the victory, and in particular, backup Jimmy Garoppolo's performance.

"It was a great night for him and for our whole offense," Brady said on Jim Gray's radio program. "Jimmy did everything he was asked to. It was a great way to start the season for our team."

Brady, who went on to rave about watching football on TV, highlighted the ability of his teammates to get out to a fast start and early lead on the road.

"It was a great game to watch," Brady said. "It's a tough environment to play in. The team went in there and looked like they were focused and prepared. They played so well in so many areas. It was great to see the offense get off to a great start, it was a great first drive - (a) lot of great plays by Jimmy, by the skill players; the offensive line did a great job. To get up 10-0 like that was huge, on the road. I think that was a great way to start the game for our team."

The Patriots will need to put up three more solid performances before Brady can get back on the field, hosting the Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, and Buffalo Bills prior to a road bout with the Cleveland Browns.
