Titans' Marcus Mariota: Commits two costly turnovers in otherwise strong performance

Mariota completed 25 of 41 passes for 271 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's season-opening loss to the Vikings. He added four carries for 19 yards, but also lost a fumble.

Analysis:

Mariota spread the ball around beautifully, hitting seven different receivers to reach the fourth-highest passing yardage total of his career. Both of the second-year quarterback's turnovers were returned for touchdowns, showing that he still needs to work on taking care of the ball after throwing 10 interceptions and losing six of 10 fumbles in 12 games as a rookie. Twenty of his 25 completions came to players who weren't on the Titans roster last season, showing that the team's offseason additions have raised the passing game's ceiling.
