McCoy won't take the field for Thursday's preseason game in Detroit, the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis:
With his status as the Bills' No. 1 running back evident, McCoy won't risk suffering an unnecessary injury. If he can avoid DNPs on game day this season, he shouldn't have much issue reaching 1,000 yards rushing for the fifth time in the last seven campaigns.
