Buccaneers' Roberto Aguayo: Turns in another strong performance in preseason finale
Aguayo converted field-goal attempts of 50 and 22 yards as well as his sole extra-point try in Wednesday's 20-13 preseason loss to the Redskins.
Analysis:
The rookie kicker is riding a much-needed wave of positive momentum into his first pro season, having made his last 11 kicks of preseason overall. Aguayo also impressively recorded two touchbacks and landed a third kickoff at the one-yard line while working under rainy conditions. His 50-yard attempt in the third quarter was particularly notable given the weather, with just enough to clear the crossbar but boasting dead-center trajectory. The FSU product has certainly put the questions that dogged him earlier in preseason to rest for now, but given the week-to-week nature of NFL placekicking and his draft pedigree, could quickly find himself in the spotlight if he struggles early.
