The New Orleans Saints will sign free-agent linebacker Paul Kruger two days after he was released by the Cleveland Browns, a source informed Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The pass-rusher scheduled a workout with both the Saints and Kansas City Chiefs after being dumped by the Browns on Monday. The seven-year veteran called his dismissal "the wrong decision," but has quickly rebounded with another team.

The 30-year-old played in all 16 games last season, recording 27 total tackles and 2.5 sacks. The year before, Kruger recorded career highs of 53 tackles and 11 sacks.

The Saints could certainly use help getting to opposing quarterbacks. The team finished sixth-worst in sacks last season, and linebacker Hau'oli Kikaha will begin the season on the physically unable to perform list, as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered in June.
