Patriots' Dion Lewis: Placed on PUP list

The Patriots moved Lewis (knee) to their reserve/PUP list, meaning that he will miss at least the first six regular-season games, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.

Analysis:

In the absence of Lewis, who recently underwent what has been described as a "relatively minor" procedure on his left knee, look for James White to see added change-of-pace work in the New England offense in tandem with power back LeGarrette Blount. Meanwhile, Brandon Bolden, Tyler Gaffney and D.J. Foster round out the team's current RB options.
