The Washington Redskins have placed rookie running back Keith Marshall on season-ending injured reserve with an elbow injury, the team announced Tuesday.

Marshall was expected to be in the Redskins' regular rotation at running back, especially with starter Matt Jones dealing with an injury.

The 22-year-old was a seventh-round pick of the Redskins at this year's draft and had impressed coaches with his work early in camp.
