Ravens' Breshad Perriman: Cleared to play Thursday

Perriman (knee) has been cleared to play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Saints, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Analysis:

Perriman was already expected to play in a game for the first time since college, pending approval from the Ravens' medical staff. Although he received that approval Tuesday, the 22-year-old wideout does still need final clearance from head coach John Harbaugh, who suggested Monday that it won't be an issue. Perriman missed training camp and the first three preseason games while allowing his partially torn ACL to heal, going more than two months without any form of football activity. Even if he impresses in Thursday's game, there's no assurance he'll start the regular season with a role in Baltimore's offense. However, the team will undoubtedly be intrigued by the speed of its 2015 first-round selection, assuming the knee issue doesn't hinder him too much.
