Dolphins place Dion Jordan on non-football injury list

The Miami Dolphins placed defensive end Dion Jordan and linebacker Zach Vigil on the reserve/non-football injury list, the team announced Tuesday.

As a result, Jordan and Vigil miss the first six regular-season games.

Jordan was conditionally reinstated by the NFL after being suspended indefinitely following a third violation of the league's substance abuse policy. The 26-year-old was drafted third overall by the Dolphins in 2013, but has failed to live up to his potential.

Vigil recorded 18 tackles in his lone season with the Dolphins.
