Browns' Robert Griffin: Expected to play in preseason finale

Head coach Hue Jackson said he will play Griffin and the other starters in Thursday's preseason finale against the Bears, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Analysis:

Deploying a new starting quarterback and a new offense, the Browns are one of the few teams that figure to give their starters significant playing time in the final preseason game. Griffin could benefit from getting some more work alongside wideouts Josh Gordon (suspension) and Corey Coleman (hamstring), both of whom missed a sizable portion of training camp and the preseason. Gordon looked perfectly healthy in Friday's preseason loss to Tampa Bay, catching passes of 44 and 43 yards in an otherwise poor showing by Griffin. With Gordon suspended for the first four regular-season games, Coleman and Terrelle Pryor are expected to start at wide receiver.
