Among the several interesting additions to Madden NFL 17 this year is the plan for consistent updates to talking points of the broadcast team.

By downloading the occasional patch, gamers will hear Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis reference and discuss relevant topics that arise as the season progresses. That will soon include a hot-button issue that's quickly become the talk of the sporting world.

According to a senior publicist for EA Sports, an upcoming update will include commentary related to Colin Kaepernick's controversial decision to remain seated during the pregame national anthem.

"Kaepernick's decision will be briefly mentioned in-game, reflecting our commitment to authenticity in Madden NFL 17," the publicist said, according to Eddie Makuch of Gamespot. "Overall, our new commentary will mainly center around on-field performance, as well as major news like trades, free agency signings, and injuries."

Kaepernick had been sitting during the national anthem that preceded each of the San Francisco 49ers' first preseason games, but it wasn't until their third and most recent contest that many started to take notice.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told Steve Wyche of NFL.com. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave, and getting away with murder."

The demonstration, which Kaepernick says he intends to continue until there's change, has drawn both support and criticism from a number of players and coaches around the league.
