Giants' Jonathan Casillas: Expects to play Week 1

Casillas (ribs) told reporters that he has no fractures and expects to play in the season opener, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

It was originally reported that Casillas was dealing with cracked ribs after Saturday's preseason game with the Jets. However, the 29-year-old insists that there are no fractures and isn't expecting to miss too much time recovering from the injury. Casillas is expected to anchor a much-bolstered Giants defense in 2016.
