Ravens' Dennis Pitta: To return by Week 1

Pitta (finger) will return from his injury by Week 1, according to coach John Harbaugh.

Analysis:

Pitta has been out since the beginning of this month due to a finger injury suffered during a practice scuffle, but will finally return to the fold soon. That comes as good news ahead of the regular season, as the Ravens have been decimated at tight end to this point. Projected starter Ben Watson (Achilles) will miss the entire season after being injured over the weekend, and although Maxx Williams (undisclosed) should be back soon, Crockett Gillmore embodies the expected starter until Pitta returns. While Pitta, who missed the past two years due to hip problems, will have to prove he can stay healthy upon returning, he'll still boost Baltimore's options at the position, which is certainly a welcomed development for the team.
