Patriots' Danny Amendola: Could open season on PUP list

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe suggests that "it's looking more and more like" Amendola (ankle/knee) could remain on the PUP list to start the coming season.

Analysis:

While speculative, it's a notion echoed by the Providence Journal. Per Volin, Amendola hasn't been doing much conditioning during practice of late, though of course if the wideout increases his on-field activities in the coming days, his early-season outlook could improve in short order. Amendola's status will have an effect on the Patriots' approach in advance of cut-downs, with the likes of Keshawn Martin and Aaron Dobson possibly on the roster bubble if Amendola ends up being activated prior to Week 1.
