Vikings' Charles Johnson: Works ahead of Treadwell
Johnson caught two passes for 25 yards on three targets in Sunday's preseason game against the Chargers.
Analysis:
More important than the stat line, Johnson (25 snaps) and Stefon Diggs (29) easily got most of the first-team work, followed by Adam Thielen (17) and first-round rookie Laquon Treadwell (nine), according to Pro Football Focus. Treadwell didn't do enough in Sunday's game to threaten Johnson, catching his lone target for a 15-yard gain to cap off a disappointing preseason. While Johnson still appears to be the No. 2 receiver, he could face heat from Treadwell throughout the season.
