Injury Roundup: Watson, Mewhort headline injury-plagued Saturday

Brian Spurlock / USA TODAY Sports

Saturday's preseason schedule left many teams without important pieces, as injuries mounted throughout the night. Here's a roundup of some notable names that suffered injuries:

Ben Watson, Ravens: Reportedly suffered torn Achilles on first snap of game, will miss remainder of the season.

Jack Mewhort, Colts: The Colts are in tough as the thinning offensive line reportedly lost its starting left guard to a torn ACL. How the Colts bolster this unit is still a mystery.

Vinny Curry, Eagles: Left Saturday's game with a knee injury. It's not expected to sideline him for any time, as he said he'd be out "a couple days" after the game.

Kenneth Dixon, Ravens: Getting rolled up in a pile near the end zone, Dixon will be lucky to escape with only a sprain. The rookie fifth-rounder will undergo an MRI to determine the seriousness of the injury.

David Harris, Jets: A shoulder injury sent Harris to the locker room in the first half and he did not return. Seriousness unknown.

Jonathan Casillas, Giants: The outside linebacker is dealing with a rib injury and will have X-rays to determine the severity.

Darius Butler, Colts: After recording an interception, Butler's luck changed as he left the game with an ankle injury. The timing is not great for the Colts, who are already without Vontae Davis.

Leon Hall, Giants: The veteran suffered a concussion and will need to pass through the league's protocol before he can return to his duties at nickel.

Delanie Walker, Titans: An illness forced Walker from the game, as he was "not feeling right," but he's expected to be fine.

Wendell Smallwood, Eagles: The rookie appeared to suffer a concussion and was visibly woozy on the field. He'll likely enter the league's concussion protocol.
