Report: Rams sign Tavon Austin to 4-year, $42M extension
The Los Angeles Rams signed wide receiver Tavon Austin to a contract extension Saturday, according to Aaron Wilson of National Football Post.
The deal is worth four years, $42 million with $30-million guaranteed, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Austin had his fifth-year option picked up last season, so he will be under contract with the Rams for the next six seasons.
The multi-faceted receiver has carved out a role for himself under Jeff Fisher, catching 52 passes for 473 yards and five touchdowns last season. He also added 434 yards and four touchdowns on the ground as a versatile weapon that can line up anywhere on the field.
Austin will be a big piece of the Rams' offense as they attempt to develop first overall pick Jared Goff into a franchise quarterback.
