Report: Giants' Brown violated protective order 2 months after arrest

USA TODAY Sports

New York Giants kicker Josh Brown, who's currently serving a one-game suspension due to a May 2015 domestic violence arrest, was cited two months after the incident for violating a protection order, reports Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

Under the protection order, which was issued following the arrest, Brown was not allowed within 500 feet of his ex-wife's house.

Molly Brown called the police and claimed to have seen her ex-husband driving past her residence as she was leaving on July 14, 2015.

The 37-year-old kicker was initially arrested on a fourth-degree domestic violence charge, but the misdemeanor was later dropped.

Giants co-owner John Mara acknowledged the club knew of Brown's arrest when they re-signed him, saying they were comfortable in their decision to do so.
