Raiders' Reggie Nelson: Will likely miss Saturday's preseason exhibition

Coach Jack Del Rio said that there is a "good chance" that Nelson (knee) won't play in Saturday's preseason affair with Tennessee, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

Nelson has missed the entire Raiders' offseason program nursing his knee and hasn't practiced at all this week. The road to recovery has been a bumpy one for Oakland's starting free safety, but his absence could be more of a result of the Raiders' wanting to see him at full strength before he suits up again. Veteran safety Nate Allen is expected to see an increased amount of reps while Nelson remains sidelined.
