Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green may be held out of a key contest in September, but fans can breathe easy.

The Bengals superstar is expecting his first child to be born on Sept. 30, a day after the team's fourth regular-season game against the Miami Dolphins. Cincinnati also squares off against the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos on Sept. 25.

Green said he'd absolutely sit out a game if his child was born on the same day.

"This is my first one, so there's no way I could miss that. No way," Green said, according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell.

Green is hoping the child arrives safely before the team's contest against the Dolphins.

"That's what we're thinking," Green said. "That would be the Broncos week. That would be good since we'll be at home, but we'll see."
