Texans' J.J. Watt: Not expected to practice next week

According to Ed Werder of ESPN, Watt (back) is not expected to take the practice field next week.

Analysis:

Earlier Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Watt's expectation of a return to practice next week, but ultimately the Texans' medical and training staffs will chart his course. Considering he's only a month removed from surgery on a herniated disk -- or his second procedure of the offseason after sports hernia surgery in January -- the team will likely exercise the utmost caution with the three-time Defensive Player of the Year.
