Vikings' Adrian Peterson: Still expected to get heavy workload

Peterson is expected to get a similar workload to previous seasons with Minnesota offensive coordinator Norv Turner hoping to get Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata more work due to the offense running more plays, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Turner said he hasn't seen any signs of Peterson slowing down at age 31. It sounds like the team still expects to give him a heavy workload (he's averaged 19.8 per game in his career). The Vikings haven't said whether Peterson will play in Sunday's preseason game, but they've left the door open that he could appear in the first game at the team's new home stadium. Either way, he appears healthy after missing some early training camp practices with a sore hamstring.
