Steelers' Harrison certain he'll be cleared of PED allegations

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison isn't backing down from the NFL's probe into allegations of PED use made against him by Al Jazeera America.

Harrison is scheduled to meet with NFL investigators on Thursday over the allegations, a request that was mandated by the league. If Harrison opted not to participate, he'd face imminent suspension.

The veteran linebacker reiterated Wednesday that he'd be cleared of any wrongdoing.

"They are going to clear my name and give me the same sendoff they gave (retired quarterback) Peyton Manning," Harrison said to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. "I'm going to be cleared. They are going to give me the same thing, flash, across the bulletin board, NFL, Instagram, Twitter, all that - 'James Harrison cleared.'"

Harrison also doubled down on his comments, stating that he's only participating to help his team out and avoid sanction.

"I'm not anxious, man," Harrison said. "It's a stupid thing I gotta do to continue doing what it is I want to do and trying to get to where we want to be, and that's holding a Lombardi (trophy).

"Me sitting out or having to sit out a season is not it."
