Chargers' Damion Square suspended for substance abuse violation

San Diego Chargers defensive lineman Damion Square has been suspended four games for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy, the team confirmed Wednesday.
The news comes at a bad time for Square, who had been getting additional reps in the absence of unsigned rookie first-rounder Joey Bosa.
Square is in his third season with the Chargers, and made six appearances in 2015 in a reserve role.
"While disappointed to hear the news today about Damion, we support and respect the league's decision," the Chargers said in a statement. "We are confident that he will learn from this and what is expected of him moving forward."
