Colts' Clayton Geathers: Doubtful for season opener

Geathers (foot) is considered doubtful for the team's regular-season opener, Kevin Bowen of Colts.com reports.

Analysis:

Geathers has been dealing with a foot injury that he suffered during the offseason, and despite original expectations that it wasn't a long-term injury, it appears he won't be ready in time for Week 1. He's been limited to biking and treadmill work recently and hasn't done any cutting, which makes it seem as if Geathers could still be a ways off from a return to the field. T.J. Green is currently the leading candidate to start at free safety for the Colts.
