Bryant suffers concussion, won't play vs. Seahawks

Kevin Jairaj / USA TODAY Sports

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant suffered a concussion during practice Monday and won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan that Bryant's concussion won't affect him in the "long haul."

Defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford has also been ruled out because of a concussion.

The Cowboys open the regular season against the New York Giants on Sept. 11, meaning Bryant has just under three weeks to recover and will likely play no further part in the preseason.

Bryant reassured Cowboys fans Tuesday that he's OK:

While there's no indication he'll miss any regular-season time, losing Bryant, the centerpiece of their passing attack, would be a major blow to the Cowboys.
