Colts' Vontae Davis: Could miss first month of season

Davis has ligament damage in his ankle and is expected to miss at least the first month of season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano had only termed Davis' injury as "week-to-week," but this report would indicate he'll be out much longer. With Davis, Patrick Robinson (groin), Darius Butler (hamstring) and Jalil Brown (ankle) all hurt, the Colts signed Antonio Cromartie on Monday.
