Report: NFL sets dates for meetings with Matthews, Peppers, Harrison

Brace Hemmelgarn / USA TODAY Sports

The NFL agreed to meet with Green Bay Packers teammates Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers on Wednesday, and with Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison next Tuesday regarding PED allegations made by Al Jazeera America, a source told The MMQB's Albert Breer.

Free-agent linebacker Mike Neal will also meet with the league on Thursday in Chicago, Breer reports, citing a source. It was previously reported that Neal would not consent to an interview.

Previously, the NFL told the NFLPA that the quartet must be interviewed by Aug. 25 or be subject to suspension.

Al Jazeera America ran a documentary in December titled "The Dark Side," where it was alleged that the four aforementioned players were linked to PED use. Most notably, Peyton Manning was alleged to been provided with human growth hormones while recovering from a neck injury that held him out of the 2011 season. Manning retired shortly after winning the Super Bowl last season and the NFL cleared him of the allegations.

Harrison also called commissioner Roger Goodell a "crook" while addressing a potential suspension for not cooperating.
