Steelers' Green: Ankle, not headaches, keeping me from practicing

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Ladarius Green has refuted a report that said he remains sidelined from practice due to recurring headaches.

"I heard about it. But I didn't look at it," Green said Saturday, according to Dale Lolley of the Observer-Reporter. "It's basically news to me."

Green began training camp on the physically unable to perform list because of an ankle injury. The 26-year-old said that's still the reason why he's sitting out, but emphasized the injury is progressing well.

"I've been doing a lot more," Green said. I've been on the field everyday trying to run, building myself up.

"It's still weak but it's getting a lot better."

Another report said Green was even considering retirement after suffering two concussions in as many weeks during the 2015 campaign.

This, too, was news to Green.

"I'm wondering who said this. I'm only 26, so I'm not thinking of retiring anytime soon," Green said.
