Luck close to perfect in 1st preseason action

Brian Spurlock / USA TODAY Sports

It's been 286 days since Andrew Luck last played in an NFL game, but he certainly didn't show any rush in his preseason debut against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday.

The Indianapolis Colts quarterback looked comfortable in his return, showing no signs of the injuries that plagued him during the 2015 season.

Not a single pass hit the floor, with Luck finishing the game 8-of-8 for 69 yards and no touchdowns. The Colts put together two long drives, but had them both stall in the red zone due to penalties and a Dwayne Allen fumble.

Luck also added another 12 yards on the ground, but more importantly, showed off his new sliding ability.

While it wasn't graceful, it was effective. A point of emphasis for the Colts' coaches this offseason has been to hammer home to Luck the importance of avoiding unnecessary hits.

Luck played just two series before he was replaced by Scott Tolzien, but should see significant action in the Colts' third preseason game.
