Steelers' Ladarius Green: Increasing activity

Green (ankle) has increased his activity in the past week, including running routes and catching passes, the Observer-Reporter reports. "I've been doing a lot more," he said Saturday. "I've been on the field every day trying to run, building myself up. ... The ankle's still not 100 percent yet. I'm pushing for it. It's getting better."

Analysis:

Green dismissed that concussions suffered early last season were the reason for his continued absence from practice. Instead, the culprit is his surgically repaired ankle, which has slowly but surely been able to handle an augmented workload. In addition to the routes charted and passes hauled in, Green took part in warmups in the lead-up to Thursday's preseason game versus the Eagles. Without a timeline for his removal from the PUP list, though, it's unclear when quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be allowed to work with his new target in the Steelers' offense.
